Things have been busy around here, stuff has been happening and I'm at a very interesting and exciting point right now. I guess the biggest news is this:
My dearest Chris and I are getting married!
Yep, in August! It's going to be a somewhat small wedding at an awesome historic ballroom. I'm designing and making my own wedding dress, which has been interesting so far. It's not coming along as quickly as I would have hoped, but I should have something to wear by the time the big day rolls around. As long as I end up married to Chris that day, I dont care what I'm wearing.
Getting married also means that I will be finally moving out of my parents' house as well! Finally! I've never had enough financial security to want to attempt to move out before, but Chris has been on his own (well, with roomates) for a while now and has a pretty decent job as a video editor, so we'll be getting a new apartment together in August.
My folks are currently doing a lot of work at their house right now, and my mom has made it clear that after I move out and they become empty-nesters that my room will be converted into a library. Cool. My folks have A LOT of books. But that means that my room will have to be COMPLETELY cleaned out. It might not seem like a daunting task to most but I've lived in that room since I was 4. I probably havent had my closet thouroughly cleaned out since I was 8 or 10. And I have A LOT OF STUFF. And needless to say I dont intend for most of it to follow me into married life. So out it must go, which is a little sad. There is a lot of childhood happiness attached to those well loved things in my closet, memories of old friends and fun holidays and birthdays. But there is no way I can take it with me, and most of it is not in good enough shape to give away. I hope I can find a solution for everything better than the trash. Suggestions are welcome. On the bright side though, it will be nice to finally cast of the shackles of having too much stuff and start clean again. Useless possessions are still somewhat of a burden, no matter how many memories are attached.

Oh yeah... Nice Costumes!!
